Cell Passage
How many times a stem cell population has been expanded in culture. Lower passages (P2–P5) are clinically preferred.

Also known as: Passage Number, P-Number
What is Cell Passage?
Cell passage refers to the number of times an MSC population has been detached, split and expanded in culture. Therapeutic potency, genomic stability and senescence resistance decline at high passage numbers. Clinical-grade Wharton's Jelly MSCs used at TurkeyStemcell are released only at low passage (typically P2–P5) to preserve proliferative capacity, paracrine activity and karyotype integrity.
