ISCT MSC Criteria
The 2006 International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy definition that all clinical MSCs must meet.
Lab & Quality
Also known as: Minimal Criteria for MSCs
What is ISCT MSC Criteria?
The International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy (ISCT) defines mesenchymal stromal cells by three minimum criteria: plastic adherence under standard culture, a defined surface antigen profile (CD73+, CD90+, CD105+; CD45-, CD34-, CD14-, CD11b-, CD79α-, CD19-, HLA-DR-), and tri-lineage differentiation into osteoblasts, adipocytes and chondroblasts. Every clinical MSC batch released to TurkeyStemcell patients satisfies these criteria as part of GMP release testing.

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
An internationally recognised standard for the safe, sterile, reproducible production of biological and pharmaceutical products.
Cell Passage
How many times a stem cell population has been expanded in culture. Lower passages (P2–P5) are clinically preferred.
Potency Assay
A pre-release laboratory test that confirms a cell batch's biological activity — not just cell count.
