What is Intrathecal Injection?

Intrathecal injection is the delivery of cells, exosomes or pharmaceuticals into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) through a fine-needle lumbar puncture. The CSF carries the dose directly to the brain and spinal cord, bypassing the blood-brain barrier. Intrathecal delivery is used at TurkeyStemcell for selected neurological protocols including multiple sclerosis, ALS, spinal cord injury and cerebral palsy, performed in a hospital procedure room under sterile conditions by an anaesthesiologist.
